Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"See? Writing stuff off like you don't like it." Stiles scoffs a little, getting invested in the conversation.

"Yeah? Fantastic." Stiles beams pleasantly.

"I wasn't really interested in crepes before." Derek mutters quietly, though the tension seems to leave his shoulders. "I might still decide I don't like it."

"Well, you have to try it to really know, don't you?"

Derek just nods, looking up at Stiles for a second before dropping his gaze again.

Peter smiles a little and makes another note.

"Will you be available next week the same time to try them then?" he asks Derek and the man doesn't answer for long. Then he shrugs. "I'll take it as a yes."

"I'd better get cooking," Stiles smiles kindly at Derek, but he's still kind of looking to Peter for approval.

[burnedwolf]

"Alright then. Next week it's a crepe date." Peter nods at Stiles. "I'm glad you shared it with us."

"Can I go now?" Derek asks suddenly.

"Just stay a little bit more." Peter sighs as he's looking into his notes.

"What, you don't like me?" Stiles teases gently, tilting his head at Derek.

[burnedwolf]

"I think you're pretty annoying." Derek remarks which makes Peter look up, because that so wasn't nice.

"Derek, I'm not sure this is how you make friends." he starts, maybe a bit offended how Stiles was so nice to Derek and he just snaps it away like that. Under therapy or not.

"Well you're no cup of sugar either." Stiles mumbles, trying not to let his feelings be so hurt by that. But his self-esteem was a fragile thing.

Derek just glares down at the floor. Peter sighs, looking over Stiles.

"Are you alright?" Peter asks Stiles quietly and Derek frowns a little. Yes Peter did it on purpose, just to show Derek he can't just throw around words. That they can hurt people.

The pause before Stiles mutters a half-hearted 'yes' is clue enough that he's lying, shrinking into the seat and making himself smaller.

Peter nods and his gaze flickers over Derek, with a raised eyebrow.

Derek rubs his forehead annoyed.

"I think everyone's annoying." he bites out as a kind of apology.

Stiles doesn't say anything, just kind of staring at his lap. "...Sorry."

[burnedwolf]

"Alright. Before you go, Derek, I want you too, to tell each other one thing you like in the other. Try it." Peter starts, eying Stiles.

"...I don't know, I barely know him." Stiles glances up at Peter, confused.

[burnedwolf]

"I know, but you can try with something." Peter nods. "You too Derek."

Derek rubs his forehead.

"You're kind. I guess." he mutters. "With making the crepes and all."

"You're - " Stiles hesitates. "...attractive, I guess. It's cool that you keep fit."

[burnedwolf]

"Yeah I do. That's the only thing I can do." Derek nods quietly.

"Good." Peter nods at them with a sigh. "Thank you Derek, this will be enough for today. We'll talk later in more depth." he speaks as he stands up to escort Derek out.

Stiles offers a hesitant smile to Derek as he's escorted from the room.

Derek doesn't look at Stiles as he leaves. A few minutes later Peter comes back, sitting next to Stiles.

"Believe it or not, that went splendid." he starts softly. "Are you feeling better?"

"...not particularly. He's mean." Stiles mumbles, dissatisfied.

[burnedwolf]

"He is." Peter agrees with a sigh. "It's a part of his... defense mechanism." he speaks. "He didn't mean it Stiles. And you handled him quite well. I'm impressed."

"What happened to him?" Stiles feels he has to ask, now.

[burnedwolf]

Peter smiles eying Stiles for a little.

"If he chooses to tell you, you will know. I can't go around telling it now, can I?" he answers quietly. "I'm just going to say that he might be more thankful for those crepes than he would show."

"Just - is he - like me?" Stiles asks softly. He can hardly imagine someone trying to take advantage of someone as big and growly as Derek. "I really do make the best crepes."
