Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

Peter had his lunch break to check his newest patient's file. It was an almost average case, which is of course terrible. That victims of date rape drug incidents were so often turning up in their clinic. But Peter wasn't about to mingle how unfair the world was once again, he had a job to do and an underage kid to help out.

He still has the file in his hand when he opens the door of his office. Peter slowly walks in taking a good look at... his patient who he still can't pronounce or read his name. But the kid's father told in a note his son likes to be called 'Stiles' so Peter will use that for now.

With slow steps Peter's walking toward the chair next to Stiles' and he has his most polite smile on.

"Stiles Stilinski? Can I call you that?" he asks quietly, not intending to scare the boy. He doesn't reach to touch him either, knowing he might not be comfortable with it for now. Especially with the way Stiles looks.

Peter just smiles a little, completely understanding that Stiles is nervous. Everyone is. But he is still there in his office.

"Yes, that would be me." Peter nods. He wonders if he should offer his first name to Stiles, but he figures it's too early. People sometimes tend to open up more to strangers, so first names could be a problem and Peter will have to see how it works with Stiles. Peter slowly sits down with a sigh, placing the boy's file on the coffee table.

"How are you today, Stiles? Would you like a drink before we start?" he asks.

Peter nods, making a note to return to that one a bit later.

"Alright, but if you need anything just tell me alright? I'd like you to feel the most comfortable here." he assures the boy with a polite smile. "I, for the record, will have a glass if you don't mind." he says and leans over to take one of the glasses from the table and pour himself some water from the pitcher.

"Tell me about yourself first. I know it's an awful question, but we have to start somewhere don't we?" Peter smiles a little and takes his glass to take a sip as he is eying the boy.

"Just the boring stuff, Stiles." Peter smiles and puts down his glass, leaning forward. "Where do you live, where do you go to school, about your friends maybe... Or if you did your homework, this kind of stuff." he motions with his hand a little. Of course he's not going to ask what happened or how it happened just yet. That will come of course, but first he needed Stiles to talk.

"There we go." Peter smiles. "My family was living in Beacon Hills too. Not anymore though." he remarks. "Well, I suppose that can be a reason for not doing your homework, but I'm not judging. Sometimes I'm late with paperwork for similar reasons." he chats. It's not exactly to make friends, he's just trying to lighten the mood, even if it might be difficult on the first try. But Peter can still try. At least Stiles is talking, not like someone a few weeks ago who needed three sessions to even mutter some words. "What do you like to do in your free time? Because clearly, you have lots since you're not fond of homework."

"Lacrosse, now that's something. Though I always preferred basketball in high school." Peter muses, eying Stiles. "Why did you stop? You didn't like it?" he asks, tilting his head to the side.

"I see. I suppose most sports are like that." Peter just nods to sign that he understands. Though he's not about to dive into that one too fast.

"Was it recent? That you quit?" he asks. Maybe it's easier to talk about lacrosse for now and he can get a time that how long Stiles needed to work up the courage to come to him.

Peter narrows his eyes for a second. That's a long time and he'll need to know how Stiles developed the incident in himself during that time. But the fact that he seemed to seek help showed that he's ready to face it. Probably.

"Weren't your bored? With doing nothing all this time?" he asks in a low voice.

Peter smiles a little.

"Are you good in video games then?"

"Well, I'm terrible at them." Peter sighs, leaning back in his chair. "My talent only goes for the small, nerve-wrecking games on my phone." he smiles a little, eying Stiles.

"I suppose you were playing games before you quit lacrosse too." Peter starts and takes his glass again to drink. "Why didn't you stop that too?"

At least the kid can smile a little, Peter wonders as he's eying him. He's young and smart and violated. Peter knows it's not a healthy thought but it kinda makes him a unique kind of pretty.

"But you're still going to school and meet your friends, aren't you?" Peter tilts his head.

Peter nods, looking down at Stiles' file on the table between them. He read most about Stiles' behavior since the incident, but he still needs the boy to tell him all of that. Because they need to build up some trust here and Stiles needs to talk.

"Are you skipping school a lot, Stiles? How often?" he asked, glancing back up at the boy.

Peter sighs a little, his lips tighten as he's eying Stiles.

"It's not exactly bullshit you know. But yes, I'm not allowed to talk about to a third party of our conversations without your permission." he nods, not taking his eyes off Stiles.
