Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"Can't or won't?" Peter asks with a small smile holding up the bottle. "Stiles, this is a new bottle. It hasn't been opened yet. I will open it now and pour some for you."

"I...I don't know, Peter. It makes me nervous." The last thing he wants is a panic attack.

[burnedwolf]

"I know it does. That's why we're going to handle this today." Peter nods and places the bottle on the table, and pushes a glass closer to Stiles too. "Just open the bottle and pour some water into the glass first. I just want you to know that it's safe, that the bottle is new and the glass is washed. You can inspect them if you want."

[totallynotrobin]

"Peter..." He's still not sure about it, reluctantly taking the glass and bottle in hand.

Peter rubs his chin as he's looking at Stiles. Then slowly stands up and walks around the coffee table, sitting down in front of Stiles.

"I'll be here. If anything happens I got you. Alright?" he started. "I want you to pour the water, so you know that no one could have done anything with it. Just pour the water first." he starts gently.

Stiles hesitates, then nods. He unscrews the bottle cap, still eyeing it with wariness, and shakily pours the glass, taking a deep breath as he does so.

"Good." Peter praises as he's watching Stiles. "You do know it's completely fresh, right?" he asks quietly.

[totallynotrobin]

"Y-yeah." It's still making him nervous, though, because it isn't his water. But it's less nerve-wracking with Peter there.

[burnedwolf]

Peter watches Stiles with a soft expression.

"Will you try and take a sip?" he asks, tilting his head.

[totallynotrobin]

"I-I don't know." Stiles hesitates, glancing up at Peter. That's asking a lot.

[burnedwolf]

"Stiles, I don't want to force you. I want you to do it." Peter started, reaching out to rest his hand on Stiles' shoulder. "If it helps, I'm going to offer a reward if you do it. How's that?" he smiles a little.

"…a reward?" Stiles blinks at him, but doesn't pull away from the touch.

[burnedwolf]

"Just like a reward for your homeworks." Peter smiles, stroking the boy's shoulder. "A drive? Or something else you'd like?"

"I don't know." Stiles hesitates, staring at the water. "…I think you have to taste it first."

[burnedwolf]

Peter hums, nodding.

"If I do that, will you try and drink too?"

[totallynotrobin]

"Y-yeah," Stiles promises, biting his lip.

[burnedwolf]

Peter just nods at that and softly takes the glass. He's looking at Stiles as he takes a few sips from it, then handing it back.

"Your turn." he smiles.

Stiles accepts the glass slowly, raising it to his lips. It was safe, Peter had just tried it.

"That's right, go on." Peter nods with a small smile, nodding to encourage the boy. He knows it might not have been the best way to get Stiles to drink, but they had to start somewhere.

Stiles takes a long sip, smiling back just a little at Peter's approval. So what if it's not healthy - it's helping.

[burnedwolf]

Peter smiles more his eyes falling on Stiles' throat for a second. Then back at his face before he gets distracted.

"How was it?" he asks when Stiles seems to be done.

[totallynotrobin]

"…just water." Stiles breaks out into a shy smile. "It was just water."

[burnedwolf]

"It was, wasn't it?" Peter chuckles and reaching out to take the glass. "And something else. It was also a huge step for you."

[totallynotrobin]

"Yeah." Stiles smiles softly. "Thank you, Peter. Really, this is…I never thought…"

[burnedwolf]

"And yet, here you are." Peter chuckles a little. "From now on I will offer you a glass of water every session. Alright?"
