Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

Peter rubs his chin, eying Stiles.

"Are you sure?" he asks quietly.

"I'm sure. You just said you'd come with me. He doesn't need to be there."

"Don't worry, I'll go with you." Peter smiles a little. "He doesn't need to, but he should." he tries, but he respects Stiles' decision. "You'll be able to do it next week?"

"Yeah, whenever works for you," Stiles relaxes when Peter says he'll come.

"It has to work for you too, Stiles." Peter raises an eyebrow. "I can take time, but are you ready to go?"

"I can try. That's all I can offer." Stiles says honestly. But if his therapist thinks it will help, Stiles is inclined to trust him by this point.

"We'll try next week then." Peter nods, writing it down. "I'll make the appointment." he smiles. "Shall we take a break?"

"Yes, please." Stiles lets out a long breath. "This has been a tough session."

"We tapped into a difficult topic after all." Peter nods, sighing too. "But I'm proud of you, Stiles. You were able to answer all my questions so far." he smiles.

Stiles smiles back softly. "Well, you're easy to talk to."

"It's a part of my job." Peter chuckles a little. "And you react quite well, I think we're doing a good job together."

"Yeah?" Stiles scoots a little bit closer to Peter, small smile gracing his lips.

"Yes. So you should be proud of yourself too. Even with the setback. Stiles, I think you've come a long way." Peter smiles, reaching out slowly to pat the boy's shoulder.

Stiles leans into the touch a little. "That means a lot, Peter."

"It should." Peter nods and rests his hand longer on Stiles than it's necessary before pulling back. "Do you feel like anything has changed?"

"I noticed." Peter cocks his chin up a little. "You smile more in our sessions too."

Stiles blushes just a little, nodding. "Yeah, yeah I guess I do."

Peter whacks himself mentally for going unprofessional again, but smiles back fondly.

"I hope you'll smiles more in the future, it looks good on you." he remarks as he sets his notes.

"Thank you," Stiles' smile widens just a little. Unprofessional? It's nice. Stiles likes it.

Peter hates that he's partly doing it because Stiles likes it and it makes him happy. Of course he wants to make Stiles happy and healthy, that's the point. But not like this. This isn't a date, it's a therapy session. And Stiles freaked when someone else was trying to flirt him and Peter has to remember that.

"You're going to be fine, Stiles." Peter says quietly.

"Thank you for saying that." When Peter says it, he can almost believe it. He trusts him that much.
