Sex Therapist AU
Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -
But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.
It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.
So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

Derek watches the boy warily too and freezes. Then Peter puts his hand on his shoulder and that relaxes him a bit. Peter makes Derek sit in the chair nearby Stiles, but he made sure it's not that close.
"Alright boys. Now I want you to talk. Introduce yourselves and tell as much as you're willing to share." Peter tells them as he sits down too, taking his notes.

Derek doesn't answer at all he doesn't even look interested. Peter sighs a little.
"Thank you Stiles, that's perfect." he says quietly. "Derek, please."
The man sighs.
"Derek. I'm here because I have to. I like basketball." Derek mutters, staring at his feet.
no subject
"Is Peter your therapist too?" Stiles asks cluelessly. At least he can make eye contact. "Are you good at basketball? I kind of suck at lacrosse."
no subject
"Something like that. He's my uncle." Derek answers, sounding a bit annoyed, not looking up. "I am."
And then silence again and Peter refuses the urge to roll his eyes.
no subject
"Are you allowed to treat family?" Stiles glances over at Peter. Derek is...not very responsive, and he wonders if he was like this too. "...cool."
no subject
"It's not exactly an official treatment " Peter chuckles.
"And I don't need it." Derek looks up, glaring.
"You really want to be alone for the rest of your life then?" Peter retorts and that silences Derek. Peter sighs, looking at Stiles.
"Thank you Stiles. You're doing well. Now I need both of you to tell the other one thing you like about yourself and why."
no subject
Stiles watches the exchange quietly. That felt a little personal for him to witness. "You know I don't have answer to that question. But I can tell you what I like about Derek? His conversationalist skills are utterly unparalleled."
no subject
"I don't have to say anything now." Derek remarks at last and Peter sighs.
"Children, we are all here for a reason." he starts. "Please try to find something you like about yourself, anything. It could be a small thing too."
no subject
"Fine," Stiles sighs, a part of him really wanting to obey Peter. "Um...I can make really good crepes."
no subject
"Very good, Stiles." Peter smiles a little.
"I don't like crepes." Derek remarks and Peter already opens his mouth to say something, but his nephew is faster. "I like to work out, I'm good at it."
"...Good." Peter finishes with a nod. "See it's not that difficult."
no subject
"You'd like my crepes." Stiles says confidently. "One won't kill you."
no subject
"I don't like sweets in general." Derek insists, rubbing his hands together and clearly getting more nervous. But Peter smiles a little, because Stiles is talking and while it might irk Derek it's still useful.
"Maybe next time you can bring some." Peter remarks as he takes a few notes.
no subject
"It has fruit in it too. Do you know you can put anything in crepes? Ham and eggs? Spinach and cheese?"
"...Sure, if you want." Stiles glances at Peter and nods.
no subject
Peter should not smile this widely over how damn cute Stiles is being. And he should not get a tingle of jealousy of his own, sick nephew over Stiles' attention. So he just listens.
"Spinach sounds good." Derek frowns a little. "Fruits too."
"Next time then." Peter nods. "I can hardly wait."
no subject
"See? Writing stuff off like you don't like it." Stiles scoffs a little, getting invested in the conversation.
"Yeah? Fantastic." Stiles beams pleasantly.
no subject
no subject
"Well, you have to try it to really know, don't you?"
no subject
Derek just nods, looking up at Stiles for a second before dropping his gaze again.
Peter smiles a little and makes another note.
"Will you be available next week the same time to try them then?" he asks Derek and the man doesn't answer for long. Then he shrugs. "I'll take it as a yes."
no subject
"I'd better get cooking," Stiles smiles kindly at Derek, but he's still kind of looking to Peter for approval.
no subject
"Alright then. Next week it's a crepe date." Peter nods at Stiles. "I'm glad you shared it with us."
"Can I go now?" Derek asks suddenly.
"Just stay a little bit more." Peter sighs as he's looking into his notes.
no subject
"What, you don't like me?" Stiles teases gently, tilting his head at Derek.
no subject
"Derek, I'm not sure this is how you make friends." he starts, maybe a bit offended how Stiles was so nice to Derek and he just snaps it away like that. Under therapy or not.
no subject
"Well you're no cup of sugar either." Stiles mumbles, trying not to let his feelings be so hurt by that. But his self-esteem was a fragile thing.
no subject
"Are you alright?" Peter asks Stiles quietly and Derek frowns a little. Yes Peter did it on purpose, just to show Derek he can't just throw around words. That they can hurt people.
