Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"…I didn't want to disappoint you." Stiles admits. And it isn't because he's afraid of Peter being angry with him.

"Alright." Peter starts a bit tense, as he's eying Stiles. It's a sign of dependency again and he's not sure how to welcome it. "Let's put it this way: Stiles, you won't disappoint me. This is your way of healing and there is no right or wrong."

"But I failed." Stiles repeats, as if that makes all the sense in the world. He failed, and if there's the withholding of a reward, he feels like there should be some type of punishment, too. So he's kind of punishing himself.

Peter smiles and reaches for Stiles' hand.

"Stiles, you did nothing wrong. You just have to try again." he assures him. He needs Stiles to know that he can't fail, even if there is reward for success. "It will be for your benefit."

"…you're really not mad?"

[burnedwolf]

"Of course I'm not." Peter nods, his eyes on Stiles. "I'm not here for that."

Stiles blushes and nods. Of course not. It felt good to hear Peter say it though.

Peter smiles at the boy, reaching out to pat his head gently.

"Are you alright?" he asks softly.

[totallynotrobin]

Stiles nods again. "I'm okay. Really."

[burnedwolf]

"Good." Peter sighs. "Can we go on then?" he smiles.

Stiles nods a third time, wondering what Peter had planned for today.

Peter nods too and moves to sit back into his chair.

"How about school, Stiles? You're going regularly now, right?" he mutters.

"…sort of. At least 3 days a week."

[burnedwolf]

"Will you make this semester like this?" Peter asks quietly.

[totallynotrobin]

"I don't know. Maybe." Stiles shrugs sheepishly.

[burnedwolf]

"I just don't want you to be separated from your friends if you need to repeat a year." Peter sighs. "Please, try your best to go to school." he adds gently. "And how do you handle strangers?"

"Summer school," Stiles murmurs, shrinking a little in his seat. "I'm fine with them. No one has…boxed me in."

[burnedwolf]

Peter nods with a sigh.

"So you're only afraid in crowds." he sums up. "So what do you think if I call in a stranger right now, will you be okay?"

[totallynotrobin]

"…I guess." Stiles says slowly, frowning at him. "Who would you call in?"

[burnedwolf]

"My nephew needs to get used to other people's presence too and sometimes I call him in on my sessions. Of course we're not going to discuss anything personal. But it's just a test how you two are handling strangers and also a good practice too. But I need your approval first." Peter speaks. It might not be an ordinary method, but it could be good to get them used to strangers.

Stiles nods slowly, granting his approval. "Okay. I can - I'll be fine, as long as he doesn't get too close..."

[burnedwolf]

"You don't have to be afraid of that." Peter smiles a little and stands from his chair. "Wait here until I get him, just a few minutes." he assures Stiles and goes to get his nephew from the other office. A few minutes later Peter enters with Derek who is a little unsure and looking like he's in a pretty murderous mood.

Stiles has curled up a bit in his chair, a little unsure and watching Derek carefully. He certainly appears more dangerous than Stiles, and that scowl doesn't help anything.

Derek watches the boy warily too and freezes. Then Peter puts his hand on his shoulder and that relaxes him a bit. Peter makes Derek sit in the chair nearby Stiles, but he made sure it's not that close.

"Alright boys. Now I want you to talk. Introduce yourselves and tell as much as you're willing to share." Peter tells them as he sits down too, taking his notes.

"…I'm Stiles," Stiles begins, when it doesn't look like Derek is going to do much talking. "I'm here because - um - something…happened. So. I play lacrosse?"
