Sex Therapist AU
Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -
But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.
It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.
So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"I - what kind of reward?" Stiles asks.

"Um," Stiles flushes a little, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know. I don't, uh, drink coffee." And he really isn't far enough along that he'd let Peter hand him a drink regardless. "What do you think?"
no subject
"Stiles, it's about what you think. It's supposed to make you happy and not me or anyone else. That's why it's a reward. I want you to want it and do the homework I give you for it." he explains.
no subject
"I don't really remember what makes me happy," Stiles says quietly. But he's trying.
no subject
"Your car does." he helps. "Or video games. No?"
no subject
"…yeah." Stiles tilts his head a little. "We could go for a drive, I guess."
no subject
"You'd let someone else in your car with you?" he asks quietly. It's soft and actually Peter is amazed.
no subject
"I'd let you," Stiles admits softly, ducking his head nervously. Was he not supposed to?
no subject
"I'm humbled." Peter smiles a little. "Maybe I'll put our next session as my last and you can give me a ride home. Would you like that?"
no subject
"Yeah," Stiles nods and manages a small smile. "I would."
no subject
no subject
"Alright. Deal." Stiles relaxes a little in his seat.
no subject
no subject
"Me too," Stiles smiles softly back.

((ooc: we could skip further along in the treatment, Stiles has been doing well and then he has a setback?))
no subject
(( ooc: and he hasn't talked about the incident too much either. I guess it could come after his setback? ))
no subject
(ooc: yeah. Maybe someone makes an unfortunate dvance and he freaks out.)
no subject
(( ooc: and he calls Peter. Okay then! ))
Peter knew Stiles will be difficult to proceed with, but they slowly did. Ever so slowly he got the boy to talk more, to go to school and to open up again to his friends and family. He used rewards to keep up Stiles' interest. It was really just to put him back to an old, safe routine.
And then Peter would want him to accept drinks from others, but he knew that will be another milestone. Along with a few other issues.

Stiles really felt like he was making progress, and that was important. He truly was happier, starting to open back up and be healthy again.
And then someone made a pass at him in the grocery store.
He calls Peter from the hospital. Acute panic attack and he may or may not have attacked the guy. But at least he wasn't pressing charges.

Peter smiles when he sees Stiles' name on his phone screen. The boy called him when he felt insecure, sometimes to get through a panic attack and Peter realized he didn't mind at all. Of course it was his job to support his patients, but Stiles was special.
"Hey, Stiles." Peter smiled as he picked up.
no subject
"Hi Peter," Stiles says quietly, managing a small smile to himself when he hears his therapist's voice. It was surprising how good Peter was at calming him. "I need you to - um - if you're not busy - "
no subject
"Stiles, I know I'm a doctor, but I'm pretty much free on weekends too." Peter smiles, liking how his last name suits Stiles voice. But that is completely irrelevant. Yes. "What do you need me to do?"
no subject
"Can you come to the hospital?" Stiles bursts out. He needs the support. "Sorry I - that's where I am."
