Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

Stiles takes a deep breath and nods. Peter's right. But he just wishes it would all go away.

Peter smiles when Stiles calms a bit.

"And you did your homework, you told me on the phone." he starts. "Did you manage do it again?"

"The touching?" Stiles asks. "Ah…I didn't really try a second time."

[burnedwolf]

"It's alright." Peter assures Stiles quietly. "Then I'm going to ask you again. That next time please try and initiate contact. Once is enough, but I would be happy if you could make it frequent." he says with a nod. "I'm already glad you did it the first time I told you."

"…I can try," Stiles allows. But he honestly isn't sure how far he'll be able to get.

[burnedwolf]

"Please do." Peter nods. Then smiles again. "But I did promise some compensation for when you do your homework." he starts. "What would you like?"

[totallynotrobin]

"Um," Stiles blinks at him. "Compensation?"

[burnedwolf]

"A reward." Peter corrects himself. "For your hard work."

[totallynotrobin]

"I - what kind of reward?" Stiles asks.

[burnedwolf]

"A treat. Something that makes you happy." Peter shrugs. "It could be anything you like, like a cup of coffee, or sweets if you like them. Or another touch." he adds, noting that Stiles had no problem touching him when he asked the other day.

"Um," Stiles flushes a little, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know. I don't, uh, drink coffee." And he really isn't far enough along that he'd let Peter hand him a drink regardless. "What do you think?"

Peter chuckles a little.

"Stiles, it's about what you think. It's supposed to make you happy and not me or anyone else. That's why it's a reward. I want you to want it and do the homework I give you for it." he explains.

[totallynotrobin]

"I don't really remember what makes me happy," Stiles says quietly. But he's trying.

[burnedwolf]

Peter sighs, tilting his head to the side. It's terrible that an act like that could throw a young boy into such a state. Into thinking he's never good enough and forgetting what makes him happy.

"Your car does." he helps. "Or video games. No?"

[totallynotrobin]

"…yeah." Stiles tilts his head a little. "We could go for a drive, I guess."

[burnedwolf]

Peter raises an eyebrow.

"You'd let someone else in your car with you?" he asks quietly. It's soft and actually Peter is amazed.

"I'd let you," Stiles admits softly, ducking his head nervously. Was he not supposed to?

[burnedwolf]

Peter ignores his fluttering heart at those words, because either of them supposed to stray to this territory. He should say no. And yet...

"I'm humbled." Peter smiles a little. "Maybe I'll put our next session as my last and you can give me a ride home. Would you like that?"

"Yeah," Stiles nods and manages a small smile. "I would."

[burnedwolf]

"Fantastic, then that's the plan for next week." Peter smiles a little, scribbling it down in his notes. "We do that every time you manage to do your homework, alright?"

[totallynotrobin]

"Alright. Deal." Stiles relaxes a little in his seat.

[burnedwolf]

"I'm glad we could work this out." Peter sighs with a smile. What is he doing, he doesn't know. Maybe he does. Well, he's being a huge idiot for starters.

"Me too," Stiles smiles softly back.
