Sex Therapist AU
Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -
But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.
It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.
So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"Yeah, okay," Stiles murmurs, but he's clearly still brooding on it.

Peter looks away for a second. Then he moves his hand again to Stiles' shoulder to comfort him.
"It will be alright." he assures softly
no subject
"I hope so. One day."
no subject
"I'm here and I'll make sure it will be. Alright?" Peter smiles a little. Maybe not the best thing he could say, but he's serious about it.
no subject
"Alright." It does bring a smile to his face.
no subject
"Did they let you drink?" Peter asks, tilting his head. He is aware Stiles still doesn't accept drinks from others. But he knows Stiles can get it himself if he wants.
no subject
"They offered, I declined." Stiles informs.
no subject
"You're not thirsty then? Or hungry? Shall I get you something?" Peter offers anyway, just in case.
no subject
"...I am a little hungry." Stiles admits, but he's not sure he can handle Peter giving him food.
no subject
Peter sighs, knowing what Stiles' tone implies. He's not going to take food from him. Not after a panic like this.
"Can I do something or will you want to wait for your father?"
no subject
"I just need someone to sit with me." For all his wariness, Stiles does offer his hand to the psychologist.
no subject
"I think I can do that." he smiles a little.
no subject
"Thanks," Stiles says softly, smiling at their hands.

Peter waits until Stiles' father arrives, just giving quiet support. They are not in therapy after all. But he's sure he's going to ask Stiles about this case there again.

The Sheriff eyes the two of them; it's the first time he's met Peter in the flesh, and he's both surprised, pleased, and wary of the man holding hands with his son.
no subject
Of course Peter knows it's not ethical to touch his patients in such way, but the sheriff doesn't need to know that. The doctor gently lets go of Stiles to greet his father politely. Explaining how it's natural from Stiles to call him in this crisis.
no subject
"Of course, yes. Thank you for coming." He doesn't say anything to dissuade Peter, especially when Stiles droops a little.
no subject
no subject
"I'll do that," The Sheriff nods, and Stiles' eyes widen a little. Peter won't say anything about their sessions, right? He promised.

Stiles relaxes and his father nods his understanding. "I'll certainly take you up on that. Thank you, truly, for everything."
no subject
"It's my job, Mr. Stilinski. You too continue to support your son through this. He needs it." Peter smiles. "I'll take my leave then." he started, looking at Stiles for a second.
no subject
"Thank you," Stiles echoes his father quietly, offering Peter a small smile.
no subject
"Take care, both of you." he smiles and leaves.
no subject
Stiles doesn't see Peter again until their next session, but his father definitely calls to ask about the progression of his son's treatment.
