Sex Therapist AU
Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -
But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.
It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.
So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"No." Stiles shakes his head. "I just…feel guilty."
no subject
"For worrying your father?" Peter tilts his head, looking at Stiles and trying to see how he was before all this. Before someone broke him.
no subject
"Yeah," Stiles admits, staring down at the water in his glass. Oh, he was vibrant. Vibrant and funny and whole.
no subject
Peter sighs a little and leaning forward.
"If it helps, they are always worried. All the time." he spoke softly. "It's what parents do and you don't need to feel guilty."
no subject
"But this is way more stress than he should have to handle," Stiles insists quietly, still staring at his glass. "It's more than just parents worrying."
no subject
Peter stays silent, but he nods. He can understand.
"It's not your fault. You can't control other people Stiles." he answers at last. "Please, understand that."
no subject
"I know. I just..." He sighs and slumps. "I wish he didn't have to go through this."
no subject
"He said the same about you." he commented. "Stiles, if you shut him out that won't make it easier for him."
no subject
Stiles flushes a little. "...he did?"
no subject
no subject
"Well I just - I don't want him to look at me the way other people do."
no subject
no subject
"Like I'm - well, I am broken," Stiles sighs, toying with his glass.

"I can see it when they look at me. Even people that don't know what happened know that something's wrong with me."
no subject
no subject
"I - I don't know. I don't, really I just - I don't want my dad to look at me like that."
no subject
"Stiles." Peter starts and leans over, reaching for the boy's hand on the glass. "He loves you. You know what that means?"
no subject
Stiles actually relaxes a little at the touch, finally looking up at Peter.
no subject
"Stiles, do you know what it means?" Peter asks again, looking at him, wanting Stiles to tell him himself.
no subject
"He won't judge me," Stiles sighs, blowing out a gust of air.
no subject
"Exactly." Peter nods. "And you know this, right?" he asks again. "He won't judge."
no subject
"Yeah I - I know." Stiles mumbles quietly.
no subject
"You also need to believe it." Peter smiles a little, tilting his head to see Stiles' gaze.
no subject
The teen relaxes slightly. "Sorry. I don't know - I also don't want him to think I'm weak."
