Sex Therapist AU
Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -
But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.
It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.
So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"Yes, I guess I am still afraid," Stiles admits. "I don't really know why. Not of him, exactly…maybe that there might be another like him."
no subject
no subject
"Yeah." Stiles nods slowly. "I hope so."
no subject
"For your homework, I would like you to tell your father why did you attack that man in the store."
no subject
"Of course. I…trust you." Stiles admits, before letting the silence permeate. He wondered what Peter was thinking, and then…
"No." Stiles says abruptly. "I-I can't. Please, I can't."
no subject
"Stiles, it will make him understand it better." he tried. "Talk to him."
no subject
"I don't want him to know." Stiles says firmly. "Please don't make me."
no subject
"Is it easier like this? Not talking about it?" Peter asked patiently, leaning forward. "It's not the easiest way, but it's the right one. Stiles, all you need to tell your father that why you thought that person was a threat and why were you afraid. Tell that much."
no subject
"Yes." Stiles looks away from him, picking at his sleeve. "I can't. Not him."
no subject
Peter sighs, rubbing at his chin.
"What about Scott. Would it be easier to tell him?" he asks quietly.
no subject
"…yeah." Stiles sighs reluctantly. "Yeah, I might be able to with him."
no subject
"Alright, then that is your task." Peter nods, eying Stiles. "Tell Scott what happened in the store, and why. Call me when you did, you don't have to wait for our next session to tell me. Will that be okay?"
no subject
"Yes." Stiles bites his lip, still nervous about it.
no subject
"Stiles." Peter starts, leaning over to cover the boy's hand with his. "You will have to talk about this with others than me. It's a crucial part of your therapy."
no subject
Stiles relaxes a little at the physical contact, glancing up at Peter. "I…I know. It's just hard."
no subject
"It will get better." Peter asssures him gently. "But you have to start somewhere."
no subject
"Okay." Stiles takes a deep breath. "Okay. Scott. I'll…try."
no subject
"I'd prefer if you wouldn't just try." Peter says, squeezing Stiles' hand. "But do it."
no subject
"I'll try," Stiles repeats, squeezing his hand back. "Thank you.'
no subject
Peter just looks at Stiles, trying to tell him to open up without words. But then he slowly pulls back.
"I think this was more than enough for today."
no subject
"Oh - jeez, am I over time?"
no subject
Peter chuckles a little, looking over the clock.
"You were here as long you needed today." Just a bit over than the session should have lasted. "We made progress." he smiles at the boy.
no subject
Stiles smiles back softly. "Really, thank you. For everything."
no subject
no subject
"No way. I never would have made it this far without you." His eyes are wide and honest, full of trust.
