Sex Therapist AU

Stiles is sure this was a terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. He's shaking as he sits, waiting, in the man's office. After everything that happened...he can't do this. He should leave. No - he isn leaving. He's going to walk out that door and -

But Stiles is frozen by fear. His nails are digging into his palm, jaw clenched. Move. Get up. Get out before he shows up. I'm sorry, Dr. Hale, I couldn't make it. Yeah. Sounds plausible.

It was a Wrong Place, Wrong Time type of thing. Actually, it was the Wrong Drink. Worst part was, it wasn't even meant for him. But when the guy figured out he'd roofie'd the wrong kid, well - might as well get something out of it, right? And for some sick reason, that made him feel worse, that he wasn't the intended target. That he was some kind of second class, even for a sick fuck like that. From there, it was all downhill.

So he's stuck in that chair, dreading the moment his new therapist opened the door.

"Like that man in the grocery store?" Peter asks quietly, with a bit of a soft smile. "But, actually this is good, Stiles. Not being afraid of your attacker like this. It's good. Now we just have to make you see that not everyone is like that."

"Stiles, thank you for telling me all this." Peter sighs, clicking his pen. He's silent for a while, reading and thinking about the session and how he should proceed. Then he looks up, eyes on the boy.

"For your homework, I would like you to tell your father why did you attack that man in the store."

Peter smiles a little, but it's not going to help Stiles if he only trusts him. He's eying the boy a little concerned.

"Stiles, it will make him understand it better." he tried. "Talk to him."

"Is it easier like this? Not talking about it?" Peter asked patiently, leaning forward. "It's not the easiest way, but it's the right one. Stiles, all you need to tell your father that why you thought that person was a threat and why were you afraid. Tell that much."

Peter sighs, rubbing at his chin.

"What about Scott. Would it be easier to tell him?" he asks quietly.

"Alright, then that is your task." Peter nods, eying Stiles. "Tell Scott what happened in the store, and why. Call me when you did, you don't have to wait for our next session to tell me. Will that be okay?"

"Stiles." Peter starts, leaning over to cover the boy's hand with his. "You will have to talk about this with others than me. It's a crucial part of your therapy."

"It will get better." Peter asssures him gently. "But you have to start somewhere."

"I'd prefer if you wouldn't just try." Peter says, squeezing Stiles' hand. "But do it."

Peter just looks at Stiles, trying to tell him to open up without words. But then he slowly pulls back.

"I think this was more than enough for today."

Peter chuckles a little, looking over the clock.

"You were here as long you needed today." Just a bit over than the session should have lasted. "We made progress." he smiles at the boy.

"Stiles..." Peter sighs with a smile. Of course he gets all kind of gratitude in his work. Because he helps people, so why would Stiles' be any different. Why does it feel this good? "I appreciate it. But it's all you."
